|     Abilene was whelped at our house and has been with us from birth therefore she was raised as we plan to raise all future puppies. She was exposed to new and different things from the beginning. By the time she was seven weeks old she was going down to the pond and exploring while supervised.     She went to obedience and conformation classes starting at three months. By the time she was six months she was running with the adults. Now she is a big girl with a long loping stride. She loves to run and swim. She tracks at a run which results in very quick turns and occasional collisions. However once she finds the track she is off again.     She began going to shows as soon as she was able. She quickly earned three majors and even won against her brother who had his championship. On Jan. 6, 2008 she won Best of Breed at the Nolen River show and received her championship with 17 points and four majors.     Abilene was checked for Glanzman's Thrombasthenia and x rayed at two. She came back clear of Glanzman's. We took her to have new x rays done on Feb. 6, 2009 and the results came back OFA GOOD. She now has OFA number 143 for otterhounds. She also has a Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) number. |
